Accounts Payable Team Leader

• Paying $62ph + super
• Doncaster VIC location with hybrid working flexibility
• Temp contract opportunity until 29th October 2026 with possible extensions

About the Role

Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Doncaster VIC. They are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader to come in and join their team on a temp contract opportunity until 29th October 2026 with possible extensions.

Candidates for this role must have:

• Extensive leadership experience in a high-volume accounts payable function in a complex medium to large organisation.

• Experience and/or knowledge of the accounts receivable function.

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or similar

Key responsibilities will include:

• Financial Operations: Lead end-to-end AP and AR processing, including master file maintenance and sub-system reconciliations.
• Process & Systems: Drive efficiency by leading system upgrades, testing integrations, and implementing automated process improvements.
• Compliance & Policy: Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedural manuals to ensure audit readiness.
• Stakeholder Advisory: Provide expert advice to management and resolve complex internal/external queries with high-quality customer service.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, focusing on cross-skilling, performance coaching, and professional development.
• Unit Support: Execute year-end financial activities and support the CFO in delivering broader Financial Services Unit programs.

About You

You will be an experienced Accounts Payable professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Extensive leadership experience in a high-volume accounts payable function in a complex medium to large organisation.
• Experience and/or knowledge of the accounts receivable function.
• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or similar
